Walk-In Wednesdays: Walk-In to any class on ANY Wednesday for FREE. Open to new students even if you have no prior martial arts experience (offer ends August 1st)! Call in advance for class times for Little Tigers Karate, Traditional Shotokan Karate, Olympic Taekwon-Do, Aikido Japanese Martial Arts, Samurai Training Arts, Shudan Studies (Go, Igo, Baduk or Paduk, or Wei Ch'i or Weiqi), or Zazen Japanese Meditation and enjoy class with us. Under our nonprofit model, we structure our membership programs so that they are affordable for all families. We work with families who need help with the cost of the program and adjust accordingly so that everyone is included. Adult Programs at Main Street Martial Art offer a supportive, challenging, and enjoyable training environment for overall self-defense and fitness.
Main Street Martial Arts delivers serious traditional Samurai Training Martial Arts, including Koryu Bujutsu Arts, with a solid warm-up and an inviting and inspiring, yet challenging approach to the teaching methodology. Whether you're an individual adult, serious teenager, athlete, or sports competitor that is looking for the cutting edge in Samurai training, you should give our free trial program classes a try and see if our school is for you. The Japanese Samurai Warriors were the original mixed martial artists for 1,000 years, who were experts in the most powerful weapons arts and body arts fighting methods both on horseback and on foot. No warrior in history quite evoked the power and spirit of the Samurai warriors. What were their secrets? How did they achieve their incredibly effective martial arts and correct decision-making powers? Take a look at our instructor base of Traditional Japanese Aikido, Aiki-Jiujutsu, Koryu Bujutsu Iaijutsu Japanese Swordsmanship (450-years-old direct lineage), Shotokan Karate-Do, ITF Taekwondo, Shudan (Go/Wei-Chi/Baduk), and Japanese Zen Studies and you will clearly see that Main Street Martial Arts has the power to take your training to the next level and beyond.
Yet at the same time, our introduction to martial arts program for beginning adults completely breaks down the basics and allows beginners the space and time that they need to work their way at their own pace into the rigors and joy of martial arts training. We cover best practices fundamental martial arts principles, physical fitness, sports-based conditioning, and the real-world philosophical connections of the martial arts to everyday life.
We absolutely encourage students who have never tried martial arts to give us a try. We are the best martial arts school in the region for beginning students to give martial arts a try in a caring and supportive environment. You will be well-supported to learn the basic strategic techniques of self defense in a cooperative environment and have an equal opportunity to advance at your own pace.
More advanced students who are looking for an enjoyable training environment and a great workout will also benefit from our programs and unique pedagogical approach which gradually builds up your strength and stamina to ever-improving levels of performance.

The Ultimate After-School Youth Leadership Program:
The Ultimate After-School Youth Leadership Program is unique in rich diversity and content of programs, offering a trully engaging experience for your child. We have a full range of programming for school-age children with healthy meals, Aikido Team, Karate Team, Olympic Taekwondo, Sword & Staff, Arts & Crafts, Homework Assistance, and Go-Do (The Way of Go, a 4,000-year-old ancient mental martial arts strategy game).
Students are well-fed after school (all healthy meals) with homework completed and fully exercised in exciting programming by the time that you pick your cherished ones up after work.
Please come in and have your children try our free trial program classes for free in our Ultimate After-School Program while you observe.
Our recent honors for this program include a 2012 Grant Award by the Providence After School Alliance AfterZone Project.
