Our
Story & Vision:
Werth Sensei’s life changed in January of
1991 when he was in graduate school. His
group of friends decided they wanted to take up a martial art. It sounded like a good idea so he looked into
it. He found an Aikido dojo and signed
up for classes. His friends didn’t. Since then, he hasn’t stopped.
“It’s given me a passion in life; something beyond going to work every day. Sometimes, I can’t get enough of it,” said Werth Sensei. “It’s always on my mind how I can improve and build an Aikido community.”
Werth Sensei began building his community at Aikido – Downtown. Aikido student Michelle N. Broome, 25, of Providence, attended her first class in May. She was new to the area and was looking for a way to meet people as well as doing something active and fun. “I showed up for a class and loved it,” said Broome.
